Fin. Ch Jade Derivato dei Sanchi, "Jade" at almost 12 years. A truely amazing dog, for those of us lucky enough to have spent time with her will have a lasting memory of her amazing temperement and constant working mode. Jade was a true Bracco whose life revolved around the point be it bird, stick or even wet lip marks on your trousers! She leaves a big hole in many hearts but many wonderful memories and many wonderful children, grandchildren and great granchildren. She will be talked about for years to come. A dog who even left the Italians speachless at her working ability. She will be so missed and my heart goes out to Teija who has lost a best friend. Jade had a most wonderful life and lived it to the full. On my many trips to Teijas I have so many memories of her. A dog in a million. The Best of the Best...... Jade 11th Oct 2008 Today saw the first and very long awaited Club Show held at Sollihul Riding Club which provided us with a very large indoor riding school. Our judge was to be Mr Gianercole Mentasti from Italy. There was a good atmosphere and very few absentees and it was good to catch up with old friends and to make new ones. The style of continental judging was new and confusing to most but each dog was given much thought. 3rd Limit Bitch - Gunstrux Gabriella 5th Open Bitch - Heinaaron Gioia di Natale for Gunstrux 2nd Open Dog - Ardenstorm Luciano Bosis (John and Hazel Abraham) This rounded up what turned out to be a great weekend, relaxed and blessed with fabulous weather and two excellent venues. 10th Oct 2008 Judge Mr John Abraham 1st Open Bitch BOB - Gunstrux Gabriella 3rd Open Bitch - Gunstrux Gazelle Well 2008 has seen a fantastic start for the Gunstrux kennel with a number of dogs from the first litter now fully mature and realising their potential in the ring with many BOBS and BOS at Ch.level and group placings at Open shows not forgetting Simo in Finland who now has two BIS placings to his credit along with winner titles, group placings and CACIB's It is also nice to now feel as though we are part of the real competition. As someone who has shown regularly on the continent in many countries I can safetly say that World Shows apart that we have a much higher breed entry than in Europe outside of Italy tho I do think that the judges actually are better qualified as they are assessed before being let loose on the breed where as here it seems as though judges who have never had a hand on the breed are allowed to judge them, some even admitting to not even reading the standard. Hopefully in time this will change. June saw the birth of Parsleys very long awaited puppies to Finnish dog Heinaaron Modi Cortesi (Spaikku) a beautiful young male who is himself excelling in the ring but also in the Field. Good luck to all the new puppy owners. I guess most of you watched the documentary on the Kennel Club, it certainly gives food for thought. I would hate to think that years down the road the Bracco becomes another victim of a trend to change the breed to suit the breeder something that can so easily happen now that breeders are judging. We are all responsible for the health of our dogs and the puppies we produce. A room full of trophies and a healthy bank balance can in no way justify breeding from affected stock. Think on...
